I woke up from the alarm and while I had gotten enough sleep I hadn’t slept well. Probably the beer I had the night before.
My husband and I talked throughout breakfast and then I crocheted a bit, went online, payed some silly iPad games, did the breakfast dishes, vacuumed the old part of the house, talked to my husband some more, cleaned the washbasins and toilets and started a load of laundry.
I tried rousing the boy twice but couldn’t persuade him to come with us for lunch. To celebrate 30 years of being together a belated 29-year wedding anniversary, being completely debt-free and successful removal of my thyroid we went to the nicer Italian restaurant in town. Despite my painful feet we decided to walk there which takes about 35 minutes.
I still really love walking but, yeah, painful feet got more painful.
There were many, many people in the streets, it turned out not only was it a confirmation and probably first communion weekend, it was also the one Sunday of the year where all the shops in the main streets are open and there is a kind of fair and games and such.
But the restaurant we were headed for is on the outskirts of town (at the other end from where we live, hence the long walk) and while it was busy it was not too crowded. Also, my husband had called ahead and reserved a table.
This is what we had, first an amuse gueule:
We ordered a bottle of rosé wine. There was pizza pane and some excellent bread with something that might have been wired garlic paste or maybe something with spring onions. We ended up choosing the exact same dishes. First tagliolini with truffles:
And as the second course some Angus tagliata with arugula, roasted potatoes, tomatoes and parmesan:
And after we even got dessert:
I had the mixed dessert plate which had some ice cream, something like pana cotta and some tiramisu all with sirup and fresh pineapple and my husband had tartufo ice cream, also with fresh pineapple. I also got a glass of sweet moscato wine and my husband had an espresso.
It was delicious, even though the beef was a bit chewy in places. The service was good, all the waiters are very nice and professional and there have been the same waiters working there for years which is always a good sign.
And then we walked back home again.
I finally called my mother on the phone because she had had an unexpected visitor when I tried in the morning and we talked briefly, then I took a break.
I planned the week and watched a few more videos in the Knitsonik Bullet Journal course, put a habit tracker for the month and a list of books I have pre-ordered in my own bullet journal and talked with the boy. Who spent the day putting a plastic model of a mech together, sorry, I have no idea what kind.
I had completely forgotten the load of laundry from earlier but my husband had run across it and brought it upstairs, so I hung that up, ate a very small dinner, watched an episode of C-drama and went to bed.
So I’m hoping to have a fun, joyful and productive week, let’s see how that goes.
