I woke up early after a long night of restful sleep, so that was good. Then I did basically the same thing as the day before with two small changes. First, the boy had to actually walk to school for the first time in ages and second, my husband got up half an hour earlier. Right when I wanted to start working on my novel.
No problem! There would be enough time to make up for it later!
Yeah right.
I talked with my husband about loads of things. He made me call the doctor’s office about the boy’s afternoon appointment to clear a few things up that the boy had been worried about. I walked to the tea shop and the health food store after doing a huge pile of dishes. I got an unexpected email from my father. Nothing bad, just something good that threw me off a little. I didn’t get around to practicing Chinese before lunch.
We had an early lunch:
I did the dishes with the boy, had a little break, did some research online, met with my husband to test some things for online teaching, did lesson prep for an hour and more research for half an hour, had the boy tell me all about his doctor’s visit, taught my students, did some admin, had dinner, watched an episode of ‚Love O2O‘ and then it was time for bed.
Only I still hadn’t practiced Chinese, done the dishes that had magically multiplied again, taken care of the BRITA filter/decalcify the electric kettle process, started this blog post or written fiction. Something had to give.
I started writing this post, took care of the messy kitchen and such, skipped the fiction-writing and went to bed slightly too late.
I am not happy about this. Yes, I might have skipped Netflix but it was only 45 minutes and I was eating at the same time.
I’m hoping that today will go better. At least all the lessons including next Tuesday are prepped. I want to go for a run, will have to teach from 2.30 until 7 without a break and then limp to bed.
