Okay, it was 4.30 but that’s not much of a difference.
I turned the lights out just a bit too late, woke up often and after using the bathroom at 4.30 my mind started whirring with all the things I needed to do the next day and whatever. I’m usually very good at thinking about something nice and relaxing and falling back asleep but that didn’t work. So I turned the lights on and read. Until 6.30 or so.
I made myself do my complete morning routine even though I really didn’t feel like it and ate breakfast. There were more conversations with my husband after that and I made some progress on the shawl-in-progress. Communication was a bit worse than normal because we wer both rather sleep deprived.
Then I put the showerhead into some vinegar and water, folded a load of laundry, did the breakfast dishes, rushed off to the supermarket for yogurt and the health food store for many more things but mostly chocolate and then I started making lunch from scratch for the first time in ages.
Because we’re fighting around lunchtime so often my husband has said he doesn’t want to cook every day anymore. So there was lentil stew with wieners:
My vision was more soup-like but well. It did taste good, even though I can’t really taste salt at the moment, the throat lozenges I use change my sense of taste.
Then we talked some more, I ate some chocolate and read a bit before starting the big Tuesday teaching marathon. Since my voice was still a little hoarse and with the lack of sleep I kept thinking about canceling the last student of the day. In the end they decided for me and canceled. Which was a bit of relief.
Then I feel into a bit of a social media rabbit hole, catching up on Derek Guy’s posts on Twitter, started writing this post, ate dinner, opened my manuscript for the two minutes I promised myself, read some more and went to bed.
We’ll see what this week’s hump day will bring. Lots of teaching for certain plus reading a knitting.
