Where I almost got to the point that I could think about writing stuff again.
I went to bed a little late, slept okay, woke up from the alarm and actually – gasp! – did my complete morning routine. Yeah! My feet are somewhat angry, seems barefoot shoes only in small doses for now is a better tactic.
I did all the morning things, including the blog post, Duolingo and a shower. My husband started a load of laundry, and told me he’d make one potatoes and stuffed zucchini for lunch. Because two of the zucchinis had hidden themselves and grown huge.
I did the breakfast dishes at 11.15 again, I’m still keeping track.
Then I made the grocery list and went off to the supermarket. Came home a little late for lunch, partly because I had searched for sake but hadn’t found any. The last time I had looked for it in the „exotic food“ aisle in vain and found it with wine and spirits, this time I looked at every shelf in the wine and spirits section to no avail.
At home the zucchini were barely in the oven and the potatoes were already ready and starting to cool. Husband was in a state, completely stressed out. Apparently he had tried making his cooking more efficient by rushing around and stressing himself out. Um, that was not what I meant.
I started putting the groceries away while he was still chopping up some herbs. He had wanted to put them in with the zucchini but ended up just setting them out, uncooked on the table to sprinkle on top.
At least I could hang up the laundry while waiting for the food to be ready:
At least I had a late start to teaching because my first student had canceled.
Right after breakfast my mother-in-law had called me to say that she wasn’t sure if she would be coming home from the hospital or not. And to ask whether the boy was at uni because if she came home she would need someone to carry her bag upstairs.
Just before I was about to get ready for teaching I heard the front door open and there she was. I helped her with her bag against her protest. The bag was about as heavy as one of the panniers I had moved earlier with the groceries in it. She thought she’d need a strong man to carry it. Um, no.
But then both my mother-in-law and my mother have reached that stage where they only ever take one key with them, not a keyring and make sure to only carry very few coins so that their purses aren’t too heavy.
And just because I’m curious I weighed my regular purse, the small one, with everything I usually carry in it (without the ebook reader, the knitting or the umbrella) and that weighs almost 1.5 kilos (3.3 lbs). And yes, I don’t really need everything in there but it’s nice to have it when I do.
Then there was teaching, dinner, talking with the boy (not as long this time), then talking with my husband about his ear troubles, starting to write this post, doing the rest of the dishes my husband had started, doing Duolingo and no C-drama because I ran out of time.
Mind you, when I was done with the blog post it was already almost eleven.
Today there will be errands, cleaning and quite a medium amount of teaching. And then the weekend!
