Going to bed almost on time was actually making the day much better but I still didn’t really get a lot done.
There were the usual morning things, some knitting after breakfast and I even attempted to weave some ends in on the cardigan I’m knitting. I can’t carry the yarn up and so there are many, many, many ends.
After that I did the dishes, then figured out that it takes me twenty minutes from thinking that I’m ready to head out the door for my walk/run to actually putting my shoes on. I’m still not quite sure why that takes so long but at least I’m getting a better grip on reality.
My feet are still hurting but I didn’t want to cut my run short so I decided to go for 50 minutes but do shorter running intervals. It was raining while I was out which was rather enjoyable:
I came back to lunch, then ate some chocolate, thought I had loads of time but miscalculated and the only thing I could do before teaching was taking a shower. Lunch was nothing fancy but very good:
Then there was teaching but my last student canceled so I had a bit more time than I thought.
The boy and I had agreed to meet so we could book train tickets for our trip to see my mother in August. This involved first getting a BahnCard for him and then figuring out the best ratio between money and the awfulness of the connection.
We could choose between having to make five connections for 55 Euros and just making two for 105. Each way.
With the trains being so unreliable these days I decided I’d rather pay a little more but I have to say that whole trip between the train ticket and the apartment we’re renting will be more expensive than I’d like.
Normally I would have booked train tickets half a year in advance but we weren’t sure of the boy’s schedule. We still aren’t, so I paid a little more still to have the option to cancel the trip and just pay 30 Euros.
After that I was ravenous but didn’t really want any of the food in the house. I had been thinking about eating more protein and how I could do that without reverting to protein shakes and had decided that I needed some cottage cheese. And some rye crispbread.
So I walked to the store. Came back with both those things, also crisp bread cheese snacks and gummy bears. Turns out I still like cottage cheese if I put some salt and paprika powder on it. It also turns out that I am helpless in the face of snack foods and gummy bears, especially when I am way too hungry, so I ate those all up.
After that I still needed to do the dishes, so I did that, spun a little, started writing this post and did Duolingo.
Fingers crossed I’ll get some more stuff done today, like, maybe a bit of writing, playing the piano and, of course, laundry.
