I woke up, wrote morning pages and decided to spend the rest of my morning me-time reading which was very soothing and nice. (I’m deep into R. Coopers „Familiar Spirits“-series.)
And then I had a day that was overfull of conversations with family. Mostly with my husband but also with the boy in the afternoon.
I did manage to change the sheets on my bed before lunch, and run the vacuum through the old part of the house and touch the washbasin and toilet in my bathroom briefly with a rag just before dinner but that was mostly it.
There was tagliatelle with bolognese sauce for lunch because we had some fried ground beef left, you know how it goes:
After lunch I had an hour or so for playing silly games and reading (and working on the blanket) before the boy showed up and wanted my help in choosing components for his new PC. Not that I have any idea what he is talking about but you know how it is, sometimes you need to talk to a real, live person to sort your head and know what you want.
Right in the middle of that my husband came over, all excited. He had been talking to his aunt on the phone and it turned out the money she sent to my account a couple of days earlier was meant for the boy’s new computer and not for the new comforters we wanted. Never mind that I had just chosen and ordered said comforters. We can pay for our own bedding, no problem.
So the boy had to rethink some of his choices just as he was about to order parts. And he was very excited because he had been thinking about getting a 3-D printer but, well, budget. Which suddenly expanded. Stay tuned.
Then the boy and I did bodyweight training while my husband was vacuuming the annex and then it was time to have caipirinhas. Before dinner on an empty stomach. It was nice, sitting with my family but my stomach was not amused.
I worked on the blanket a bit more while my husband ate dinner. At that point I had been weaving in ends for hours, starting right after breakfast. And then I could finally retire in front of the TV with my potato chips and ice cream dinner.
My husband felt lonely so he watched with me. It might be a bit weird to start watching a series ten minutes before the end of episode 1. And after a few tries we both gave up on me stopping the episode to explain things. I’m watching „Guardians of the Dafeng“, by the way, and I think I really like it. Wang Hedi is always a pleasure to watch and this one is pretty goofy. Also, while it says „romantic comedy“ so far there hasn’t really been any romance which suits me fine.
I stopped watching after episode 2, then spent some more time finishing weaving in all the ends while my husband was asleep on the couch. If I had been alone I would probably have watched some YouTube at that point but I didn’t want to startle him.
And then I went to bed and turned the lights out at 11.
Will I get stuff done today? Who knows? I guess we’ll see in a short while.
