It’s a good thing that I don’t believe the first day sets the tone for the rest of the year because I started 2025 on only four hours of sleep and hungover.
So I didn’t really get anything done all day. I failed to sleep in, then wrote my morning pages and lounged about, wondered where my husband was around 10.30 or so only to find that I – couldn’t find him. I looked everywhere. He left his wallet, phone and smartwatch at home and the only clothes I couldn’t find were his pajamas. So it did look as if he left the house in his pajamas. While it was freezing.
I waited for an hour worrying, then getting angrier by the minutes. I don’t like it when people leave the house without leaving a note. It’s very inconsiderate.
Well, turned out he was up super early and didn’t want to wait for me to get up, also thinks he is constantly inconveniencing me, so he went for a run.
He came back and I scolded him and hopefully make him realize that it would be a great idea to at least leave a note but even better to take his cellphone. Yes, he doesn’t like it and yes, it adds some weight but, well. Even the smartwatch would be a good idea, I think I could probably find where that is on a map in case I needed to.
So then we talked and talked and talked.
There were beans and rice for lunch because my husband wanted something soothing:
I crashed in the afternoon, there were more conversations until I finally went to find the recipe for the oatmeal cookies I’ve been wanting to bake for days now (too late), found that I need an ingredient I didn’t have at hand and gave up for the day.
The boy and I did strength training, I quickly ate dinner and took a shower, then went to watch a live online thing, there was more talk with my husband that ended with both of us declaring we were absolutely done with emotional conversations for a while, I thought about watching something but just made myself a cup of tea, read for a couple of minutes and turned the lights out at 10.
I feel much better this morning, huh, who would have thought.
