I did not set an alarm but woke up at 7 as usual anyways. Which meant I still hadn’t gotten enough sleep. Because I really wanted to take that shower I skipped the morning routine and got wet instead. I was a little late making breakfast but that was okay.
I tried to explain to my husband why I hadn’t managed to take that shower the day before and how happy I was to finally be clean which lead to a lot of hurt feelings and resurfacing of old hurts. Great start to the day. We did talk it out and went back to being good soon after but still.
I called my mother on the phone, then did the breakfast dishes. Then I sat around in the kitchen talking with my husband while he cooked and playing silly iPad games. I was too hungry to start something and kept thinking lunch would be right around the corner. If I had realized it would take almost an hour more I might have gotten something done.
Lunch was delicious, though, pasta e fagioli might be the whole family’s favorite comfort food:
I was very determined not to spend another day dreading the washing up so after a reasonable break I tackled the dishes. Of course that was when the boy showed up to eat his lunch. I did the dishes anyway, we talked while he ate and when I was done I sat down at the table and we showed each other stuff on Twitter. As one does.
I planned for the week ahead and did the usual Sunday things. I also waited for my husband to show up. He had said he wanted my help with some computer stuff so I found myself not starting anything serious because I was waiting. He also had said he wanted to watch ski jumping (flying? No idea) so I waited some more. Went on social media for too long and such. When it was almost six I went over to the annex to ask him about it. Turned out he had been so busy that he didn’t have the time. I folded a load of laundry and put it away, we decided to do his computer things today and I ate dinner. When I was finished my husband showed up, we talked some more and I folded the second load of laundry. I washed my one plate and knife even.
Then I sat down to watch some C-drama only to find that I had left off right in the middle of an episode the last time. So I watched only twenty minutes. Which suited me fine because with all the talking and laundry it was a bit later than I had expected. I started writing this post, did Duolingo, made a list for today and sat down to watch Sarra Cannon’s kickoff call for her quarterly planning course. Who knows, maybe I’ll use her method this time.
I watched the call, got ready for bed and turned the lights out a little earlier than the last few days. I’m having high hopes for the week ahead but then I always do.
