Woke up, packed everything up, had breakfast, then waited until it was time to leave for the train station.
The first train was pretty empty and only a little late. I got off, bought a guitar magazine for my husband and some chocolate (didn’t get any more salt licorice chocolate, sad face). I went to our favorite noodle place again and was very excited to sit next to four people who actually spoke Mandarin Chinese! And I even understood a sentence or two. My Chinese is still pretty rudimentary, though. I’m at the „ooh, someone mentioned a word I know“ and „people actually ask ‚really?‘ the way I learned“! Anyway, very exciting.
And when we were all finished with out food at about the same time one of them went and put a tuba in its case on his back.
Oh, and delicious food:
I had already seen before that my train was twenty minutes late but when I arrived at the platform it turned out it also had changed platforms. For some unknown reason I never get decent wifi at train stations and so the excellent train app can’t really tell me where to go or how long it will take.
But I did figure out where to be when and how to find my reserved seat. Oh, and speaking of reserved seats, the conductor on the first train that day told me off for sitting in the wrong car. I almost said I was sorry and only afterwards did I remember that I had two reservations for that train because the connecting train was canceled and so I made new reservations for the whole trip and ended up reserving two seats on that same train. Which reminds me that I need to fill out the form to get the money for one reservation back.
The 5-hour trip on that train felt even longer. I finished watching „American Fiction“, tried finishing the Karelia mittens for my husband but must have made a mistake somewhere along the way and didn’t feel up to figuring it out.
When I arrived at Munich I was happy to see that the train was on time again which is quite the feat after starting out with a 40-minute delay. I rushed through the station to get to the next train but that one was late again and the platform was so crowded that I had a hard time getting to the other end. So I decided to take the next train in the right direction and wait a few stations further along which turned out to be a good idea.
When I arrived home it was already dark outside. My husband was waiting at the door. I unpacked right away and then sat down to eat and talk with my husband:
I was extremely happy to be back home.
I had plans to watch something and crochet but then the boy came downstairs and we talked instead.
I did remember to thaw the Hefezopf so yeah Easter breakfast!
