Went to bed an hour late, slept very well, and did somewhat better in the morning in part because the boy slept on a mattress in the living room and needed to get up at 7.30 so that helped me not to dawdle in bed for too long.
I actually opened the manuscript before breakfast but I did skip meditation for it. Meh, but also priorities.
Speking of priorities, with everything else I am still spending quite a bit of time each day reading „Rules for Ghosting“ by Shelly Jay Shore. So far I am loving it. (And I had to laugh because I had to look the author’s name up twice, and that made me think about a blog post by Dean Wesley Smith that basically said titles don’t sell books, just author names do. Well, with this one I found the title much more memorable than the author’s name, but okay.)
Husband and I had a long conversation over breakfast and beyond. While talking I finished a sock:

And then I started the next one and decided (for the second time) that I really don’t care for alternate cable cast-on, I think I actually like doing tubular cast-on better. It might be more fiddly but I am also better used to it.
I did the breakfast dishes and then went to two health food stores. Came back home, unpacked the groceries, folded all the laundry and put it all away and chopped a few herbs:

Then I only had time for a short break before it was time to teach. What was nice was that the boy joined us for lunch, he had already returned by the time we started eating. No eating outdoors yesterday, it was just too hot.
There was a lot of teaching, all students showed up and I even had one that only comes in once a month after.
After that the plan was to do bodyweight training, then eat dinner, write and go to bed early.
Well. the boy asked if he could eat dinner before training. I was in favor because I was very hungry at this point. My husband did the dishes (yay!) while I was eating right next to him (not ideal). Then, just as we were about to start our strength training the boy came back downstairs saying that he had a huge problem, his graphics card might be broken.
So figuring out what was wrong took priority. Then we did our warm-up, walked upstairs to start exercising and he looked at his computer again.
Long story short, his computer installed a driver update for his graphics card this afternoon, and after that the card stopped working.
He tried redownlioading, restarting, all kinds of things and then he found something on Reddit saying that was a problem several people had. He managed to install an older version of the driver and – voilà. Phew.
But that made strength training take a little longer than usual.
After that I brushed my teeth, opened the manuscript and wrote a few more words, started writing this post, made a list for today, opened my video game again for a short bit and went to bed.
My hope for today is that there will be a bit more breathing rom. It does look likely, two students have already either canceled or rescheduled, so I don’t have a big, fat block of uninterrupted lessons back to back.
Oh, and go and get yourself „Rules for Ghosting“ and read it, it really excellent.
