And I almost (but not quite) got eight hours of sleep.
Unfortunately I started the day phone first which meant no writing. In the end I squeezed that in just under the wire which is better than not at all.
There were the usual morning pages, yoga, a little meditation and breakfast with my husband who is still spending about an hour every night (or sometimes in the morning) sorting through some of his old things. Diaries, journals, and assorted stuff from his teenage years. He is astounded at how much he was actually writing at that time.
I don’t think I have ever gone through my old things, maybe I should. But then, I just pulled out a bullet journal from 2017, started looking through it and now it has been sitting there untouched for at least a week, maybe two.
Anyway, we talked, I knitted, and then it was time to celebrate Mother’s Day. My husband went upstairs to give his mother the flower for her balcony that he got on Friday, and I called my mother like I do every Sunday. I stopped giving her presents for Mother’s Day a long time ago. Not that I don’t appreciate her but the whole thing with Mother’s Day in Germany being mostly the result of a bunch of slower shops trying to sell more is a but off-putting.
Since I was super tense and anxious about the upcoming week and today’s appointment with the eye surgeon I then planned the week out. It’s always interesting to see how soothing a mere list can be.
On the other hand I was really happy to get a flower from my own son:
He even remembers how much I like roses and the color orange.
I folded laundry, hung the new load up that my husband had started right after breakfast, vacuumed the annex and changed the sheets on my bed while my husband was making lunch. I did help a little with the salad. And then the three of us ate outside together. It was nice and sunny but very windy:

After lunch I actually did the dishes right away, cleaned the washbasins and toilets and started the second load of laundry for the day.
I read a bit while eating some chocolate, and then it was time to fill out the form for the eye appointment today. I did my best, and then it was finally time to play Genshin Impact.
Or so I thought. The boy came downstairs for something he needed because he wanted to do a sample paint on a Warhammer figure. Um. We decided to do our bodyweight training right away.
Which we did. We were lucky, it was the day of the program that only takes 20 minutes.
Then there was dinner, finally video game playing where I tried getting all the materials one can only get on a weekend, then I played the quest I had started that afternoon all the way to the end and ended up starting the next one after that without really meaning to.
So I left that one which might mean I need to start over the next time but I didn’t care, I still had stuff to do. First I needed to hang up laundry again, and then I started writing this post before finally opened the manuscript but not for all that long (I am using my dedicated writing desk with my fancy clicky keyboard more often and that makes me happy).
I brushed my teeth and washed my face in between, packed my purse for today with the train ticket, wallet and the forms I needed to fill out, made a schedule for this morning that includes a walk/run and a shower before leaving for Munich, turned the TV on so I could watch YouTube on the big screen and plied some yarn.
Phew.
I’m pretty sure I can’t do that much every day but when I can it is definitely fun. Also a bit stressful at times. I might have to do about the same amount of things today. Not tomorrow, though, and Thursday is a public holiday and will be completey free.
Well, as free as a regular Sunday, I suppose…
