As per usual I went to bed too late and while I did set my alarm earlier it didn’t really make a difference because I somehow lost load of time anyway. I also did not open the manuscript but that was to be expected on the day before my trip.
I did yoga, meditated and took my blood pressure and then ate breakfast with my husband. We talked and I knit and then my husband went to the farmer’s market for potatoes.
Meanwhile I gathered all those pesky small things you need while traveling. Charging cables, a nail file, my tiny pocket knife, a thermos mug, a container for today muesli, bandaids, headache meds and my prescription medication.
I also packed it all together and it does fit in the smaller daypack but there is not as much room left as I’d like.
And then I went on a short walk/run:

When I came back my husband was in a mood. He had burnt the burgers because he went downstairs to get the load of laundry upstairs. They were still edible, though:

I then took a break and played Genshin, and then jumped into the shower real quick.
Taught a regular number of students, and then immediately turned around to get a coaching session from my friend. On her birthday! Which was fun but by the time we were done I was very, very hungry, and very, very exhausted.
My husband had wondered why I was still on Zoom after teaching because he had forgotten I had told him the session had been moved to today. (American friend had wanted to do her taxes on Monday.)
So then I talked with him, finally got to eat dinner, talked with my husband some more and steeled myself to do the dishes and such but husband said to leave the dishes, he’d do them today.
This is what my packed bag looks like, by the way, the only things that are still missing are my glasses case, my earbuds and my phone:

This is based on the list I made during the packing class last fall but I added quite a few things to it: 2 pairs of glasses, a small purse, sunglasses, my eReader, a container for my breakfast, a bigger powerbank that can charge all my devices, two extra balls of yarn (that I probably won’t need but of course I need to be prepared), an extra fountain pen, a stack of paper that I am supposed to bring with me, two card decks (also for the retreat) and a foldable travel nail file.
See for yourself:

The stack in the back is my travel clothes, the bright orange packing cube next to it holds my clothes, oh, and I packed some almonds so I don’t starve.
After all of that I then talked with the boy, he helped me massively with Genshin so that I could go to bed a little earlier, I wrote this post and scheduled it for today and then went off to bed.
Today I need to get out of the house before 7 so I can catch a train. Wish me luck for the train ride and all the connections. There is construction on at least two routes so things might be interesting.
Anyway, I will eat lunch somewhere else than home, how exciting!
