But also I might need a second day off to recharge.
First of all I went to bed way late, past midnight. There were several things I needed to prep for the day and then there was the kerfluffle with the blog.
I still set my alarm earlier than usual and did the morning routine. Sans writing but with morning pages and yoga. I had an early breakfast and then went to the dentist for a dental cleaning and such. I met a new dentist, very nice and seems very thorough.
After an hour or so of that I went to the other side of the street to the health food store and bought mostly veggies and fruit. Also some chocolate.
Then back home, unpacking the groceries, briefly helping my husband to do the dishes and a short break before we walked out the door to catch a train to Munich.
My husband had misheard the time the train would be leaving as 12.21 so he was a little stressed and pushed me to hurry which then led to me standing in the street patting my pockets looking for my phone (that held the train ticket, among other things) and then returning. Not before assuring my husband that the train was leaving at 12.31 instead.
My phone was not where I expected it to be. It turned out to be in my jeans pocket, underneath my heavy coat (there had been snow before). But everything turned out alright.
We took the train, then walked to the Alte Pinakothek and on the way we visited a very small dim sum place that was tucked away in a side street. The place was very bare-bones but the staff was extremely friendly and attentive and the food was marvelous:

I forgot to take the photo until after we had obliterated all the spring rolls and dumplings. I was a bit sad that there were no special Chinese dumplings to be had but the food was delicious, super fresh and they make all their own sauces.
We managed to actually eat all the food but my husband had to help me.
Then we went on to the museum and the place was hopping. My guess is that we weren’t the only ones who wanted to get a visit in before the train line through Munich shuts down for almost two weeks, and also it was the last day of the semester, so some students wanted to make use of their last day of student discount. At least that’s what the person who sold us the tickets said.
The exhibition was breathtaking, we stood in front of paintings like van Gogh’s actual sunflowers and all those paintings everyone knows. There was Monet’s waterlilies and especially my husband was very moved by the real thing. He is the one with all those fat art books on the shelves, by the way,
Afterwards we strolled rather quickly through the whole Breughel and Dürer part because we had reached our limit to taking things in for the day.
Then we walked back to the city center and the train station, took a train home and then I did the thing I often do, on the way home we picked up my new orthotics, yogurt in one supermarket and potato chips in another before finally getting home.
And that was mostly it for the day. I read, I ate potato chips for dinner, I played, I started writing this post, made a list for today and went to bed a little earlier this time.
And today is a new day, a new month, and a new quarter.
