Going to bed past midnight was the first mistake, but, well, dishes you know.
Then I let myself go down a medication rabbit hole, first about antihistamines, and then about HRT. And then I was too late for most of my morning routine. And then I started reading email, or something.
Anyway, I am happy to report that I did yoga and meditated. I also must have skipped one of the videos in the 30-day challenge I’m doing but I’m not sure which one, and I don’t know if I can figure it out. I mean, it doesn’t really matter but it’s the kind of thing that sometimes makes me abandon things.
I did some of the breakfast dishes, talked with my husband and called my mother on the phone. She had a lot to talk about because she had met two of her cousins over the past few days. The three of them are all the same age, born within a few days of each other.
Meanwhile my husband was supposed to start cooking, including heating up the grill. Well, turns out that the charcoal grill always takes longer than you think it will. He went to look after the fire while I was making pasta salad, and then I sat and waited. And waited. And waited some more. I did get quite bit of reading done one paragraph at a time in between him returning to the kitchen before going back out.
Lunch was good even though we had to use vinegar for the salad again instead of lemon juice because the lemon we had had gone moldy:

That is a steak and half a grilled bell pepper. The boy was getting corn on the cob.
There was tea and chocolate and reading and playing Genshin, then I talked briefly with the boy, then my husband showed again, somewhere in there I hung up two loads of laundry, just as I was about to start with that my husband showed up again and said he’d finish the eggplant cream (again, using vinegar instead of lemon juice) and while he was at it he also did the dishes while I was just sitting around waiting.
I did order a new office chair somewhere in there because my old one is very saggy and gives me back pain, and I did plan the week and opened the manuscript for the first time that day.
But then it was time for bodyweight training. We always train on Sundays and I had put it in the calendar. Half an hour later because the boy said that works better for him.
I even packed my computer and everything away and changed into my sports bra.
And then I waited. And waited. And waited some more.
I did text him three times. I did not go upstairs because when he doesn’t answer texts it either means he is completely engrossed in something and when I knock on his door I startle him out his chair, or he has fallen asleep.
So no exercise. Harumph.
I was hungry so I ate dinner, read some more, then started writing this post, did Duolingo, played some more Genshin, made a list for today, and watched some C-drama while spinning.
And now we’re off to a new week. A week that looks pretty full already. Fun!
