After extensive research I can now say that being overtired really sucks. Well, it’s my own fault.
After the disastrous afternoon the day before I did somewhat better yesterday. I even opened the manuscript before breakfast.
Talked with my husband (bit of conflict because my brain was only half online, always fun, but we sorted it out eventually), did only half the dishes, went to the nearby supermarket, bought all the snacks (why yes, being overtired is excellent for impulse-control, why do you ask?) and ate lunch:

Before I was about to leave the house the doorbell rang. Since I was expecting two packages I hurried to get the door, to find that it was one of our neighbors, asking if they could borrow our infrared lamp. They had borrowed my mother-in-law’s lamp before. So I went all the way upstairs and tried finding it, but no luck.
After coming back home from grocery shopping I tried again, found my mother-in-law’s lamp but not mine and dropped it off.
You know, that kind of day.
After lunch I took a pretty long break, answered a few messages and just when I was about to start the dishes half an hour later than planned my husband showed up. Could I help him vacuum the ceiling in my studio? This is a 1-person job because while one of us (my husband) is up the ladder doing the actual vacuuming, the other person has to lift the part of the vacuum that holds the motor up. That part is so big and heavy that taking it up on the ladder would be ill-advised.
I came back to the kitchen where I met the boy, we talked a bit, then I finally did the dishes and then there were only 15 minutes left before my first student.
One of the packages I had expected held five copies of my book, by the way:

It’s astonishing, how different the colors are. Not only between the proof copy and the actual book (proof copy is in the upper left corner) but also between the newly-printed copies. The proof copy is very blue/gray and so dark that one can’t really see the design on the back. Two of the new copies have acceptable skin tone and look pretty good, and three are way too yellow and bright. Weird.
I taught my two students, then talked briefly with my husband, ate junk food for dinner and some chocolate, did Duolingo, started writing this post, did my foot exercises, brushed my teeth and watched some C-drama.
The plan for today is to go to Augsburg. Unless we’ve caught the boy’s bug. Who is feeling much better, by the way.
