At least I got enough sleep. Wrote morning pages but didn’t have time to open the manuscript. Did yoga and meditated, had breakfast, found that the new yogurt I bought was tasting watery and unsatisfactory (we’ll see if the other containers are the same, unfortunately, each of them holds a full kilo of yogurt), did the dishes and called my mother on the phone.
I made an appointment at the Apple Store because my brand-new earphones have been acting up, the right one often doesn’t charge and actually discharges in the charging case. I did everything that is recommended, cleaned them, disconnected them, restarted them, all of that several times.
Lunch was not as calm as I would have liked, my husband thought he was making an easy meal but ended up being very stressed and some parts didn’t turn out as expected. The taste was good, though:

The eggplant was from our garden again and the whole fridge is full of cucumbers. Also, the first tomatoes are ripe.
I did the dishes right away, yeah! The I took a nice break, played games and read, then the boy showed up with a big pile of dirty plates, reheated his lunch and told me a bit about the day before.
Shortly after that my husband wandered into the kitchen and I still hadn’t moved. I played some more and read some more. I had big plans of sewing on buttons and planning the week ahead, and proofreading but I just sat there doing nothing.
The boy and I did bodyweight training. We did the kind of session where we have to try impossible things, like doing an exercise one step harder than the one we’re doing now and then one that’s two steps harder.
I actually managed to get my foot into the rubber band for pull-ups without the boy’s help for the first time. I’m not quite sure if that counts as a win. The funniest was when I tried to do a proper pull-up (actually chin-up but who cares). So, I was standing on tiptoe, pulling with all my might and – nothing happened.
I also liked the point where I thought I should try using both dumbbells while doing what my book calls „one-legged warriors“. Getting two 5-kilo dumbbells over my head was already a bit of an adventure. Moving my upper body down and one of my legs up at the same time while holding them proved to be unstable enough that I gave up after half a try. I do like the exercise, it’s fun and it uses basically every muscle in your body.
At least I didn’t fall on my face. And my push-ups have gotten better, my knee push-up is almost decent by now.
I ate dinner. At some point I made an eye doctor appointment because I had totally forgotten that I should come in again in September. Well, the earliest appointment I could get was for December. Shrug. I should have booked it right after the last one.
I sat around and read some more, did a long-ish Duolingo session, started writing this post, finally planned the week, figured out what kind of ticket to get for the three excursions next week, helped the boy with some admin stuff, went outside several times to see if I could witness the blood moon but couldn’t find the moon in the sky, watched some C-drama and went to bed.
And today is hiking.
