Even when you didn’t get enough sleep yet again. Have I told you that my dizzy spells are back? Anyways, I don’t sleep enough, I get dizzy. Really bad habit. I mean the not getting enough sleep.
But. I did get up at a reasonable time and actually did the complete morning routine. I decided to re-read the last portion of my novel-in-progress so I didn’t feel bad about not adding new words. I did like it better than I thought I would, so that’s something.
My husband and I ate breakfast in harmony and talked. Then we talked a little more. I made a very sensible plan about how the day was supposed to go and I was only half an hour late with everything. Which was completely my husband’s fault for wanting to talk some more after breakfast.
I wove all the ends in on the sweater. I did not clean anything, so that will be left for today. And maybe tomorrow.
I did the breakfast dishes and went on a very short walk/run in the heat:

I came back home in time to help my husband with making lasagna and a salad but he was not quite as far along as we both had hoped.
After quite a bit of frustration because the reason for the lasagna had been that there was a ripe eggplant in the garden. Said eggplant stayed in the fridge for a few days and when my husband took it out yesterday it had gone bad. Boo.
So we put fried zucchini in the lasagna. Eventually lasagna and salad was achieved but I’m not showing you a picture of my plate because it was just too messy. Instead feast your eyes on this:

All that had taken quite a bit of time which meant we only finished eating after 2. Which wouldn’t have been a problem if my husband didn’t have a friend coming over at 3.
My plan had been to sit in front of the computer by 4 to do book cover research. Well.
The boy came downstairs. We talked about book covers, as one does, and about some other stuff. I was very tempted to make him do the dishes but then did them myself so I could catch up with my daily piece of classical music. And I finished watching Angela Collier’s video on the Scourge of the Shire, heartily recommended.
Somehow time did its thing without me really noticing, I said hello to my husband’s friend very briefly and then it was time for my weekly writers Zoom. Which was nice, as usual. During Zoom I finished weaving in the ends, joined the shoulder seams and then started to pick up stitches for the first sleeve but picking up stitches requires more focus than I can muster during Zoom. (Also the instructions said to pick up 69 stitches and I have no idea how that is supposed to work on that sleeve. That will need some focus time when my brain is actually working.
I did some book cover research in the end but that only left me with more questions about how that works. Hmpf. Will continue.
I spent a lot of time on social media after that, ate crackers and cheese for dinner, tried to find an alcoholic beer in the basement because I got FOMO, my husband had a beer with his friend, but couldn’t find any beer that was not non-alcoholic, got my husband to fetch me one and put it in the fridge, I talked with husband and his friend a bit, the boy came back home from riding his bike (it’s his new attempt at cardio and he keeps coming back home all happy for having moved outside in the fields), I started writing this post, did Duolingo, watched the first episode of „The Immortal Ascension“ while knitting on a sock and went to bed.
I am very hopeful that today will be a productive day as well, will report back.
