I started it by oversleeping which meant I did get enough sleep, so that was good. But I didn’t have time to open the manuscript before breakfast which was not so good.
And I was still rather foggy and slow which went through the whole day.
Anyway, husband and I talked, there were dishes, I changed the sheets and pulled the winter duvet out again because the summer one is not warm enough right now, I changed all the towels and then ordered takeout and picked it up:

I took a longer break than I wanted after that, met the boy briefly, finally got myself out the chair to actually do the cleaning that I had wanted to do in the morning, then started a load of laundry.
I moved myself to my writing desk in the living room and did a review of July (mixed month, some things went very well, others not as much; I’m looking at you, publishing tasks) and started planning for August.
While my husband was teaching drums in the basement below. Just as I was trying to focus to set my goals for this month the boy showed up with a slightly convoluted problem of Windows 10 not being supported much longer but upgrading to Windows 11 will make his really expensive VR headset completely unusable because there won’t be any drivers for said headset anymore.
This is an issue he has been thinking about for a while now, and to me it feels like a case of „let’s fixate on this other thing so I am not as stressed out by the looming exam“. I mean, in addition to being a real problem.
That didn’t help my focus, so I sent him away, remembered that I own noise-cancelling headphones and put them in so they actually canceled the drums and music.
I came up with too many far-reached goals for the month which I might change if it suits me, had half an hour left to finally write new words, spent that time on – Bluesky, and was late for bodyweight training.
Silently fuming because the boy was ten minute late while forgetting to change into my exercise bra and get the dumbbells from the annex was also a classic move. On the bright side I might have figured out what basic mistake I was making with my pathetic negative chin-ups and that might lead to better results. Eventually.
I ate the second half of my lunch for dinner while talking with the boy, then helped him study (I’m still mixing up everything, I think he would have done better with an actual flashcard app) and then started writing this post.
After which I remembered the load of laundry in the washing machine, so I hung that up, did half-hearted foot exercises, finally watched the last „Word of Honor“-episode while knitting and went to bed.
I really hope today might be a day that is less crammed for once, let’s see how it will turn out.
