Or rather no sex scene but that comes later.
Late to bed, yada yada, decided to leave the writing for after breakfast. And in a shocking plot twist I actually did it then.
But first morning pages and yoga, then breakfast with my husband where we actually talked. I keep working on that one potholder very slowly.
And then I did open the manuscript. When I was three minutes in and really starting to get into the groove I was interrupted by my husband. I thought he had already left the house, but now. He went running and I went back to the manuscript.
So, the thing that paralyzed me all week was that it felt like I needed some spicy romantic action at this point in the story. But I really didn’t want to write it. I also don’t enjoy reading that kind of scene all that much, I often find it boring to wade through all the writing about body parts, moans and gasps.
And on top of that while I do want my characters to fall in love and have a relationship they are in some kind of danger in the midst of all kinds of things happening and that is not really conducive to a romantic atmosphere.
So I decided to make the whole thing ‘fade to black‘ and I’m much happier with that.
Then there were dishes, and the changing of the sheets, the dusting, the taking care of trash and recycling, the cleaning of mirrors and the vacuuming.
My husband hadn’t been sure if he would have time to cook, there was mention of takeout at some point. Then he decided to make spaghetti bolognese. Then he went into the garden.
We ended up having fried zucchini flowers (the last batch for this year according to my husband):
Plus spaghetti with two kinds of sauces and a mixed salad. Behold my chopping skills:
Also, guess who didn’t finish cleaning because she was busy helping with the salad. Also, carrots fresh from the ground and cucumber from the vine is the best.
There was only a short amount of time before it was time to teach. I played ukulele and guitar for the first time and while my thumb did last all the way through it was a bit sore at the end.
After my last student of the day I faffed around a bit, then met the boy for bodyweight training and then was almost too hungry to eat dinner.
I eventually succeeded, ate some extra chocolate to make up for being really tired, decided to skip watching anything and crocheting, started writing this post, made a list for today and went to bed.
