I went to bed too late again. In part because I did the dishes after dinner, in part because the boy was occupying the bathroom when it was my bedtime (he had asked, though), in part because I really wanted to watch some C-drama even though it was too late, and in part because it felt like I had gotten nothing done all day.
I did okay-ish with the morning routine even though I was slow enough that I had to skip opening the manuscript. Funny how that is always the first thing that goes out the window.
I did yoga and meditated and then ate breakfast with my husband. After which we had another very long conversation that was exhausting and while we both tried understanding each other we mostly failed, I think. Anyways, then we had to hurry because we were late, again.
We did the breakfast dishes together and then I went out for my walk/run:
It started out feeling like I had an asthma attack but I prevailed and after the first running interval things felt much better.
I went back home, unpacked some stuff I had ordered for the boy and took a shower.
All through the morning I had done things like buy new books and try to make my eReader show the actual covers for two of the books on there. No idea why they won’t everything else works fine, and while I removed the books and re-downloaded them several times I couldn’t figure it out.
I’m not keen on resetting the whole device again so I guess I’ll live with it. Those aren’t even books that I side-loaded, I bought them outright from the company that made the eReader and on all my other devices it shows the covers just fine.
This kind of thing can drive me completely nuts.
Anyway, then it was time for lunch. There was a small incident or two with frying pans where my husband was sure he had turned the heat off and then left the room but nothing actually burned and it tasted very good:
I took a break after that with some chocolate, silly games and some reading. I started reading „Pagans“ by James Alistair Henry and then immediately turned around to continue reading „The Ippos King“ as one does.
I’m pretty much grazing books at the moment. I’m reading „Do hard things“, „Fight right“, „Why Buddhism is true“, „Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Dummies“ and of course „Another Year of Wonder“. Ahem. All books I actually read a little yesterday.
Before lunch, as I was standing in the shower, suddenly a couple of men and a kid opened our front gate and walked in. I was confused at first because I thought we had forgotten a student but no, they were there to give our balcony a second coat of paint.
Of course this was the one day I had not taken fresh clothes with me to the bathroom. I had to wrap myself in a towel that was just slightly too small and get something to wear from my bedroom that had a ladder in front of the window with someone looking in my direction.
At least I didn’t flash anyone.
My original plan had been to work in the living room because my studio is very hot and very sunny and my husband keeps walking up and down the corridor in front of it but I did not want to sit in front of a computer right next to someone doing manual labor for me.
So the studio it was.
Getting myself to start was pretty much like pulling teeth but two hours later I had finished the cover for the free short story, formatted the story as an ebook, uploaded it to BookFunnel, written a newsletter to my list with the download link, written an email to a prospective new student and another one to my doctor asking about checking my thyroid hormone levels.
Phew.
After that my brain was basically dead.
I talked briefly with my husband, ate dinner, talked even more briefly with the boy who had left the house shortly after 7 and came back home almost 12 hours later, I read some more, the boy and I decided to move bodyweight training to another day, I started writing this post, did the dishes, wrote some new words, helped the boy think through an official email, did Duolingo, my foot exercises, watched „Word of Honor“ while knitting away on the cardigan sleeve, and went to bed.
Today will be the supermarket run and teaching two students for a change. I still haven’t planned the week, I guess that’s not going to happen.
