I went to bed at a reasonable time and slept well. And then I thought I needed a bit of a break and skipped my whole morning routine. It was nice to just lounge in bed and read but also writing and yoga might have been even better.
My husband and I talked at length over breakfast and this time it was a very interesting and helpful conversation.
And then we were pretty late for everything else.
I did the dishes and Duolingo and then went for my walk/run in the rain:
It would be nice to exercise at a time of day when I’m not extremely hungry but that will have to wait for another day. (I very often find myself exercising at a time that is either right before lunch (or right at lunchtime like yesterday) or in the case of bodyweight training it’s often right at dinnertime.)
On the other hand, going hungry for half an hour or so would not be a big deal. On the other, other hand I often find I lack grit when exercising and maybe that would go better when less hungry and/or tired.
Meanwhile my husband made lunch while feeling distinctly meh:
Lunch didn’t taste meh, though, so that was good.
And then I reached the point of the day where I thought I’d do all the things and found that I somehow really didn’t want to. I sat around and read things, briefly contemplated pulling the sewing machine out and then barely made it to the shower before my weekly writers Zoom. Which was very nice and I knitted a big chunk of sleeve. Fingers crossed I have enough yarn left but I think this should work.
After Zoom the whole family met to watch another episode of ‚Columbo‘ while eating crackers and cheese. The boy and I wanted to know what charcuterie board is called in French and it took quite a bit of time and going way of ‚Käseplatte‘ to figure that one out. (It’s plateau de charcuterie in case you’re interested and yes, I know that charcuterie is not the same as cheese but just looking up the French word for board was not a lot of help.)
And speaking of French I might have bought „A la recherche du temps perdu“ by Marcel Proust in French. There are times when I think I’ll read something in French, never mind that my French is really bad, I have a very hard time reading anything written before 1960 or so, and I probably won’t read a 3,000 page book. On the bright side I only paid 99 cents.
The Columbo episode was rather good, by the way, we watched „By Dawn’s Early Light“.
After that I watched a short episode of C-drama, did Duolingo again, tidied the kitchen ad started yawning profusely.
I did my foot exercises, wrote a list for today and started a list of things I want to do in the next two weeks and went to bed.
