After a Saturday of doing nothing I of course went to bed too late. Because I was so exhausted. Right.
I did get up at the usual time, though, and managed my complete morning routine including thirty minutes where I expected to stare at a blank page but then actually wrote some words instead.
My husband came over for breakfast while I was doing yoga and that had the nice effect of my tea being ready afterwards. We talked at length and then I slowly started the process of making up for the day before. But first I had to fix a bunch of cables that I knit wrong on the sock-in-progress. And write my blog post. And call my mother on the phone. And make a doctor’s appointment.
I did help my husband a little with making lunch by cutting some veggies for salad and setting the table:
There was more talking, all very nice conversations and then I took a break.
Because I had to many things to do that day I sat there and procrastinated for, um, more than an hour. Somewhere during that time the boy showed up and ate lunch as well.
Some time after four I finally started getting stuff done. I washed an epic mountain of dirty dishes, hung up a load of laundry after folding another one, changed the sheets on my bed, put stuff away that had been sitting on my bed since before our trip and then was too late for bodyweight training with the boy.
I tried using the pair of padded weightlifting gloves I had bought for my poor hands (did I tell you that my hands are now hurting at the base of my thumb and the corresponding place on the outside of my hands as well?) but instead of helping with the pulling exercises they made things worse. (I had ordered more exercise gloves that morning, we’ll see if that makes things better.) The gloves did make a bit of difference with the pushing exercise, though, and I also made that one easier. I will not ruin my hands in the process of getting stronger but my quick research did reinforce my belief that strengthening my fingers and hands is a good idea in general. Maybe not during an acute flare.
Speaking of which, I dug the prescription painkillers out as well.
Then there were sandwiches (and chocolate) for dinner, I started writing this post, made a list for today, planned the week and made a plan for everything I still need to do before my novel’s publication date.
Oh, by the way, here is the link to pre-order the book: “Masked in Ice” by Susanne Winter (no, that’s not my real name). Just in case.
I watched a bit of C-drama while knitting more cables and went to bed at a reasonable time.
And now: Monday start energy!
