I overslept a bit, did my morning pages and spent half an hour on the manuscript with a net result of 19 new words. Hmpf. But, progress is progress.
I spent a lot of time all day joining blanket squares. This was helped by having many, many long conversations. Rather emotional ones with my husband again in the morning until it was almost too late for a walk.
We also went upstairs to wish my mother-in-law a happy birthday. 89 years is definitely something.
The weather was glorious but I have a real problem with what shoes to wear while walking for exercise in the snow. I apparently threw my winter running shoes away. I don’t think they would be much use because they were Vibram Five Fingers and I’m still wearing orthotics a lot.
In the end I settled for walking in the streets in my usual winter shoes.
Lunch was one of my favorites, potatoes, spinach and fried eggs:
After lunch I had a teensy break before the boy showed up. We talked about his new computer again, of course. Then there was more talk with my husband, and then I finally took a shower and we all went upstairs again to say hello to my husband’s brother, his two sons and their wives. We only ever see each other around Christmas and everybody’s birthday which is a shame.
After that the boy and I sat together once more so he could talk through his choice of computer parts again and so I could hold his hand because he was spending all that money, then there was more talking with my husband so that it was too late to do the lunch dishes before dinner.
I did manage to heat frozen mini pizzas in time for the three of us to meet again for a session of ‚Columbo‘. And my husband got lucky and finally was able to snatch a case of alcohol-free Augustiner beer, something we had only heard about for months now but it was always sold out.
It really is as good as we heard. Very nice. And yes, alcohol-free beer is much better for my poor stomach than the real one.
We finished watching ‚Columbo‘ around eight, then I watched an episode of ‘Guardians of the Dafeng‘ while joining more blanket squares and crocheting the first border round. When the episode was over and I wasn’t finished with the first round I made the questionable decision to watch something YouTube while continuing.
And then I went to the kitchen to do the whole messy pile of dishes even though it was almost bedtime already, and then I made myself a cup of tea, sat down to read and ate a handful of almonds and some chocolate.
I turned the lights out at 1 am. Stupid.
So we’ll see how today goes, at the moment I do have quite a bit of energy but that might falter at any moment. And no, I don’t want to take a nap, thank you very much.
