Which was kind of restful.
Now, mind you, when I say nothing I don’t actually mean nothing.
I did wake up before the alarm despite turning the lights out at midnight and – skipped the morning routine. I filled the boy’s water bottle and made sure he hadn’t fallen asleep and then lounged in bed for too long.
There was breakfast and then my husband needed to get going because he and his friend had plans to go to Wörthsee again. They walked the whole way around it and went out for lunch.
Meanwhile I fell into a major slump and spent my morning reading and playing silly games. I didn’t even do the breakfast dishes. I did decide I needed more potato chips and chocolate and walked to the health food store for it.
Before that I finally tried my new pair of jeans. When I had ordered them I had been sure they would be too tight but, well, look for yourself:
I still need to figure out how to style them but I’m thinking tops that I usually wear with skirts. Anyway, very exciting.
I came back, took care of all the tea things from breakfast and pulled the frozen pizza out:
I ate, I sat, I read. Then the boy came home and got some pizza as well, after that my husband showed up ten minutes before he was due to teach and told me a bit about his morning.
I taught two students, found that I could attend one of the four monthly Zoom things that I subscribe to live and so I did that and knitted while listening. I’m happy to say that I’m finished with brioche for the moment.
After that I went to the kitchen again where my husband was busy making tomato sauce for today’s lunch. He was not happy, very hungry and exhausted and had wanted to talk with me but I had my door closed. Since I didn’t want to eat dinner while being talked at I went and vacuumed the annex. When my husband was finished the kitchen looked like this:
I decided I needed a beer. The boy came downstairs, saying he wanted to take a shower and that the wifi was slow just when I was starting this post. I declared that I wanted to do the dishes first, tell him when I was done and then I would restart the router while he took his shower.
At this point it was 9 pm.
I did all those things, made a mental list for today, did Duolingo, watched some C-drama while enjoying my beer and went to bed.
Today will be extra fun with the guests arriving. And, funny that, turns out when you have houseguests they also need beds to sleep in and towels and food for more than one meal. Oh, and I definitely need to vacuum the old part of the house and wave a rag in the general direction of the bathrooms.
