I did get enough sleep but didn’t sleep well and wasn’t feeling all that rested. Meh. So, because I felt low on energy I decided to skip my morning routine. Not the best idea. Especially since skipping the morning routine meant I almost forgot to take my meds.
I had breakfast with my husband and then another very slow morning. I did the usual online morning round and some Duolingo, then the dishes and my husband started a load of laundry. I did a covid test just to be sure and walked to the supermarket where I get our yoga and counted that as exercise. I guess it’s better than nothing.
I came back home, set the table for lunch and folded laundry. Lunch was pancakes with spinach:
Between the laundry and the end of lunch my husband was arguing with me about my (alleged) tendency to always react with no to everything. Which is apparently showing a lack of respect.
I think this might have something to do with my husband’s upbringing where he subconsciously learned to never say no to anyone versus mine where you just debate merrily along until you reach consensus. Or not.
Or as the boy and I noticed when I was complaining about said argument the boy and I both answer with „no“ and „but“ a lot to each other and very often the other one will say something along the lines of „Huh, I guess,“ and no harm done. It was fun to point out each instance of „no“ and complain to be disrespected. But what we usually do is just talk and talk and talk and look at things from all the angles and point out were we think the other one doesn’t have it quite right to arrive at greater understanding.
Which does not explain why when my husband asked me, „Could you check if the laundry is done?“ I answered with, „No, it’s still 25 minutes.“ What I really meant was, „No need, I just checked, it’s still 25 minutes.“ But what he heard was, „No I can’t, and I’m not answering your question.”
Always great when you’ve been together for 30 years and understand each other so well.
After lunch I was swallowed by the Saturday slump for a while but still managed to hang up two loads of laundry and take a shower. I also ate all the sweets. And looked at our train tickets for the family reunion in September. The high speed trains we were supposed to take both ways were canceled, so I changed the booking and then had to get new seat reservations. Again.
Then it was time for yet another writer Zoom-call where I got to tell everyone what I did during the week.
After that the boy and I ate potato chips and ice cream in front of ‚Doctor Who‘. I have mixed feelings about that episode. There is one more to go.
After that I watched an episode of C-drama. I think I like this drama but not enough to stay with a whole episode start to finish, so we’ll see.
I then started writing this post, did Duolingo and the dishes and went to bed.
Next up all the Sunday things and the start of doing taxes! Fun!
