But since I don’t really have time to blog yet again (and am a bit under the weather after yesterday’s excess) I’ll just post the same thing here as I wrote on Ravelry earlier.
Saturday went very well, I finished cleaning, took my shower, helped my husband cook in time and taped my feet before leaving the house.
We were lucky and didn‘t get rained on while out and about.
The trip to see our friends was a bit uncomfortable, the trains were late and the platform kept changing and at one point we saw another train heading in our direction just pulling out two platforms over but it was okay. Pretty full trains with soccer fans and apparently cricket teams but fine. Unfortunately, my husband did not think so and is now considering getting a car again. Whatever. I wouldn‘t want to drive home from a wine tasting or go to a wine tasting and not drink. We‘ll see, I guess.
And I think buying and maintaining a car for the two or three times a year that we‘d like having one is excessive, we should instead just rent one.
The afternoon and evening were way more fun and interesting than I would have thought. I had expected a lot of boring small talk with some middle-aged people (Is it still middle age when everybody is around 60?) but instead we met the vintner, a farmer, a carpenter and his wife the baker and my husband‘s friends. The vintner led the wine tasting really well, told us a lot about the different wines and tastes and barrels and such, it was fascinating.
We left around 11, the six bottles of wine we had pre-ordered in our backpacks, hiked back to the train station and the way back went much better but then trains were still really packed. It‘s always the same on Saturdays around midnight. At least we didn‘t have to take a train into the city on a weekday morning.
On the way home I was the level of drunk where you really have to focus not to misstep especially on stairs but we arrived home safe and sound.
I turned the lights out at 1.30 and did sleep as well as can be expected under the circumstances. I woke up at as usual, wrote morning pages but skipped yoga because I didn‘t trust myself not to keel over when doing downward dog.
I guess today will mostly be sitting around waiting for my body to return back to normal and for evening to come around so I can go and sleep some more.
There will be some knitting, the usual phone call with my mother and all the laundry, I think there are three loads of whites and at least one of darks. I don‘t think I‘ll be up for sewing but I will play a lot of silly games and plan for the week ahead.
I hope you all have a refreshing Sunday ahead, see you.
