I actually got enough sleep! Yeah! I wrote morning pages but ran out of time again for yoga and meditation. I did decide to set my alarm 15 minutes earlier starting today.
There was breakfast and talking with my husband and I started the last border round of the crochet blanket-in-progress only to find that there was a stupid mistake in the round before. I decided to rip back. Which made my husband slightly upset as usual. For me it doesn’t make much of a difference if I finish that blanket a day or two earlier or not. If I didn’t want to spend more time on it I would just have fudged something.
When I went to my studio to call my mother I saw that the corner near the window that I had vacuumed the day before was again full of dirt. I showed it to my husband and for the first time could convince him that this is indeed some kind of bug activity. Husband has asked me to research. I don’t know how. Here’s a picture:
I called my mother on the phone and she tried getting tech support from me for online banking on her laptop. I mean, I had offered to do that at times but I hadn’t expected it to be on our weekly call just before I was set to make gnocchi from scratch. My husband had sprung the gnocchi idea on me at a point in the day where I was feeling rather overwhelmed anyway. He had offered to make the gnocchi without my help but, um, I opted for eating at a reasonable time instead.
Turned out the reason my mother had trouble with online banking was that they completely changed the UI in the past ten days and that now you need to install a browser plugin for it. Seems she’ll stick to the phone app for now.
I did the breakfast dishes, my husband had put the potatoes on in the meantime, I cut some veggies, almost slammed my husband’s hand in a drawer (very grateful for his good reflexes), made the gnocchi and had lunch:
I took a break after lunch, then talked with the boy, played silly iPad games, did the dishes, and then went outside to say hello to my husband and a friend of his who had offered to help him with yard work in exchange for veggies later in the season.
I cleaned the washbasins and toilets, started a load of laundry, planned the week, talked with my husband again, ate dinner, talked with the boy for an hour or so, did Duolingo, packed my purse for today with all the doctor’s reports and stuff and then sat down to watch „Shall We Dance“ with Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. That morning my piece of classical music for the day was „Walking the Dog“ by Gershwin and that is from that movie so I decided to treat myself and watch it in the evening.
Today will mostly be about freaking out that I need to go to Munich to a new to me place and talk about my thyroid and what will happen with it. In the evening I’ll teach two students.
