Not that there is an obligation to get things done but I do tend to judge my days by some weird measure of productivity and pleasure. And often I’m not quite sure how well I did. Maybe I should stop the judging.
I dozed off again after the alarm but managed to get up in time. Not in time for yoga and such but at least in time to make breakfast for the boy. He overslept again and apparently fell asleep with the lights on, dressed in sweatpants and with Youtube still playing on his computer. I’m not the only one who has trouble getting a grip on her life at the moment.
He did get up in time for distance learning, so that’s something.
I started cleaning early, which was good, but then my husband decided to meet a friend (outside and masked and distanced and such) for lunch and that threw me off a bit. Because I decided to get frozen pizza and that it would be better to finish the cleaning in the afternoon. So that ended up being the only thing I did all afternoon. Hurray.
The boy and I had an early lunch:
Why yes, I was very hungry.
And yes, this is what happens when my husband doesn’t cook. Well, he did make some pasta salad but because he wasn’t sure there was enough of it the boy and I had the pizza for lunch, We did eat the rest of the salad for dinner, though. And the pasta salad was better than the frozen pizza.
I took a break after lunch, the taught my first student, wasted the next one hour break, taught another student, finally got my act together, finished cleaning the house and filed the piano sheet music, reminded the boy that he wanted to get a covid test just in time before the test center closed, taught my third student of the day, talked a bit with the rest of the family, watched and episode of ‚Torchwood‘ with the boy („Something Borrowed“ which I really like) and another episode of „The Devil Punisher“ while crocheting on my blanket.
Then I started writing this post, re-arranged the pile of dirty dishes so that there was enough space to make breakfast, did evening yoga (Yay!) and got ready for bed. I also finished „Marriage and Murder“ yesterday and started reading „Undercover“. Seems I’m in the mood for romance novels still.
Today there will be the running and the making of the pizza. Somewhere in the back of my mind I think I can sew today and tidy up all the things and write half a novel or something. The reality will probably be that I barely finish my run in the morning, take ages to shower and hang around all afternoon not sure where to start until it’s almost time for dinner and I remember that I haven’t practiced Chinese yet.
Oh, and I had to get up early and make breakfast in time for the boy to leave before eight because he is meeting with a friend for rock-climbing. (Hence yesterday’s test.)
