My time management skills aren’t up to speed at the moment. Or rather, my Susanne-managing skills.
I woke up at six, spent the first thirty minutes doomscrolling, did yoga, forgot to meditate and had breakfast. There was not enough time to start writing before my husband’s breakfast.
I did finish the crochet blanket and didn’t take a picture. Sorry. The light was bad, the whole day way gray and dim, it was also cold and wet. I did the dishes and talked with the boy.
And then it was too late to start cleaning without it interfering with cooking. So I helped chop up vegetables and then I dusted and vacuumed the annex. The plan was to do the rest of the cleaning in the afternoon. When I thought about cleaning it was my mother-in-law’s nap time. So I waited. And then I forgot.
I did start a new crochet blanket instead. That was what had me running late in the morning.
Lunch was on time and delicious:
Fetuccine, cream sauce with peas, carrots and ham. You can’t see the ham because it’s at the bottom of the plate.
I did do the dishes right away again. Bonus points for that. I took a bit of a break after talking with the boy again. He is anxious about going back to school next week. The Powers that Be have decided that all the students will have to return to school at the same time. Despite the numbers still being extremely high. They have to be masked all day but that won’t really help. He is scared not of catching COVID himself, he is mostly scared of infecting the rest of the family. And I can totally understand.
Then I finally was about to start writing when – my husband showed up to talk with me. We talked for ten minutes. It took me another twenty to mentally get ready for writing again. Then the boy showed up.
I did get around to writing 1,200 words in the end but it wasn’t easy. Being able to switch between two projects did feel good, though.
Then I started writing this post, the boy and I watched the new episode of ‚Star Trek: Discovery‘, I crocheted some more, wrote a few more words and went to bed on time.
All in all the day was not too bad but the cleaning still needs to happen.
Today there will be the running, the writing and another virtual knitting meeting with the lovely Laura tonight. Will I get around to cleaning and sewing? Stay tuned.
