I had one of those days where it feels as if you’re moving through molasses. The alarm went off at 5.30, I was ready to get up and then – dozed off again. Because the next time I looked at the clock it was 6.
Did yoga, made breakfast and waited for the boy who also had overslept a little. Thanks to the failsafe of setting his alarm early and having a mother who comes looking for you when you’re not downstairs at a certain time he did make it to school on time with breakfast and brushed teeth.
With my husband’s new breakfast time that meant no time to do anything in between. Well, apart from reading.
The rest of the morning followed the molasses theme. I did a gauge swatch for a hat and decided that I didn’t like the yarn for it. I started cleaning but didn’t get it all done. I helped with making lunch. We had two courses even, fried zucchini blossoms filled with cream cheese first:
And rice noddles with sugar peas, chicken and egg as our main course:
No time to do the dishes because I needed to teach. I actually managed to be late. Lucky for me my husband looked at me and asked, „Don’t you have a student at 2.15?“ when I was still thinking it was 2.30 and so I was only five minutes late. That was a video lesson, otherwise the student showing up would have been more obvious.
One more video lesson and one in person and my last student didn’t show up at all without cancelling. Huh. I was glad for the breathing room but a little concerned.
The boy and I spent the evening celebrating the Star Trek Voyager series finale with potato chips, ice cream and beer (soda in his case) and I spun a bit more BFL. Then a big pile of dirty dishes and off to bed.
Today there will be the running, the prepping for jam-making, maybe some more cleaning and definitely the editing of the podcast. I hope. And sleep, blessed sleep.
