I did get enough sleep for the first time in, um, nine days or so. As I said, I need to make that a bigger priority.
I did my full morning routine and ate breakfast before my husband even showed up. The boy came downstairs when I was about to take my blood pressure but I did it anyway. And had a completely normal blood pressure for the first time in a long time. The boy went upstairs again, my husband came over for breakfast, we talked, everything was nice, I knitted. Only a couple more rounds until the toe of the sock-in-progress.
I called my mother on the phone and we talked about all kinds of things, including my new raincoat.
There was lunch:
There was a lot of reading and playing silly games. The boy showed up just as I was about to do the dishes and we talked a bit. I finally did the dishes and listened to some classical music. My husband showed up three times in rapid succession. First, to tell me about the video he was watching, second, to show me the chords for „Unforgiven“ by Metallica that he had just transcribed. Then we had to argue a bit about the meter. His version ended up with weird half-measures in places, mine would have been much neater. The third time he came over to talk to me about something called „Solfeggio-Frequenzen“. Don’t ask.
As usual, every single one of these interruptions required me to re-calibrate my focus. I had been in the process of washing the dishes while thinking about planning the week and how to start cutting out the t-shirt fabric. To think about where the fabric should be and if I had already washed it.
In the end I sat down again and played some more silly games until it was time for dinner, started planning the week and played some more solitaire.
Then I started writing this post, finally ate something and planned the week. The boy went to take a shower and found this:
I guess I’ll call a plumber some time today. I did Duolingo, watched C-drama and moved everything else to this morning.
Now I have to take a shower (good thing we have another bathroom with a completely unconnected drain), have breakfast and get myself to my annual cancer check-up until 9.30. This will be fun!
