Just a quick post because I don’t have much time.
The piano tuner came again and was really nice and yes, he agreed the piano needed to be tuned some more. I am now very happy with it. There are some strings that resonate weird and they will ultimately have to be changed but not before a few years. Until then I will have to live with some pitches sounding just slightly off even when they are actually in tune.
After that husband and I talked and I did the dishes, then hopped on my bike to go grocery shopping. Oh, and right after breakfast my husband and I got started on lunch.
Grocery shopping took longer than expected, there is a reason why I usually avoid the store on Fridays and Saturday.
Lunch was delicious:
Entrecôte that we did in the slow cooker with a slightly too soggy potato gratin with some fried zucchini and parsley. Yummy!
Then I took a little short break while talking with the boy, taught all the students, missed the first half of the Germany vs. Spain soccer match, made myself a sandwich and ate in front of TV. I also had a beer.
Germany lost, not as clearly as I would have thought they would, the teams were really evenly matched. (Not that I actually have any soccer expertise, I haven’t seen a match in years.) It was a very suspenseful and interesting match as well and doing something with my husband was also fun.
After that we did the dishes together, I watched some C-drama and time got away from me. I had forgotten to take my pain meds with dinner so I decided eating a whole bag of peanut snacks was a great idea, you know, to cushion my stomach and I turned the lights out at midnight.
All through the day we were subconsciously waiting for my husband’s friend to arrive. Because of this weekend’s rehearsal he had carted his hammond organ, keyboards and assorted gear all the way from Berlin and was supposed to arrive around 7 to set it all up. While we were still teaching.
Well, my husband’s last two students canceled and his friend ended up showing at 10 and then ended up staying overnight.
So this morning not only did I have to people right after breakfast, no, to make things even better I also found that the bathtub/kitchen sink drain (such a great idea to let two sinks and one bathtub go down just one small drain) is clogged.
So in between writing this I was talking with husband and his friend and starting on declogging the drain. I’ve tried the baking soda/vinegar/hot water thing twice and have used the plunger several times. There seems to be a bit of downward movement up to the point that I was elated it was declogged until, it turned out the clog just moved down a bit.
I’m pretty optimistic but I don’t think this will be the most relaxing weekend ever.
