I went to bed on time, slept well but couldn’t make myself write morning pages right away. I did those much later. Did all the morning things including the dishes and some crochet:
I tried opening the manuscript but then my husband had lunch ready half an hour earlier than usual:
It was very good.
And then everything crumbled. The plan had been to take a shower in the morning but I ran out of time. I also couldn’t shower right after lunch because my husband needed to shower as well before his lone student of the day. Yes, my husband scheduled a lesson on a holiday. No, I don’t understand it either. So I waited.
At four I had a live stream thing with Becca Syme. I did use that time to get the dress-in-progress out, found that I had already started the actual sewing and started preparing the next step. Some time throughout the day I had actually made a list of things I wanted to do this month:
- Challenge: do something different than usual every day (this can be very small things like taking a different route somewhere or choosing a different flavor of yogurt)
- Health: turn the lights out at 11 pm most days, buy less sweets, do regular stretching and mobility training, maybe ease back into yoga
- Writing: finish proofread of EM1, decide on titles for trilogy, order cover (maybe), refresh author website (bonus goal), format EM1 with Vellum
- Self-Care: sew dress and skirt, maybe also a t-shirt and leggings, cut my hair, try out the new makeup I bought
- Fun: play piano, play video games, participate in Summer Mystery KAL
- House: do little things to tidy, clean and repair
- Travel: prepare for, go on and enjoy trip to Verona with my husband at the end of the month
- Learning: continue Chinese and Italian, preferably do both Duolingo and Hello Chinese, get through the Knitsonik Bullet Journal course and do the homework, read non-fiction
Yes, I know this list is long. Probably too long but we’ll see. I am excited for the new month and am, of course, hoping to do everything better than last month. Oh, and I took a covid test:
Phew! Always a good feeling.
