So, Thursday had me bike to the supermarket, buy all the groceries, come back, notice that the washbasin in the bathroom in the old part of the house is slow draining, unpack groceries and eat lunch:
I took a break after that until it was almost too late to do the dishes before my lone student of the week, remembered the washbasin, started declogging, failed completely, took half the washbasin apart and managed to cover the bathroom in filth. I did manage to extract the usual fat and hairballs, put everything back together and ended with a sink that was still not draining plus dribbling water everywhere underneath which was a bit unfortunate with the cupboard underneath and my pajamas sitting on top of that.
I had to give up.
My student arrived at the same time as my husband’s friends, we said a quick hello, then I gave a singing lesson, we all sat down to eat more lasagna at some point, I watched C-drama and crocheted and then I couldn’t get going. Mind you, I still hadn’t done the dishes. Around 11.30 my husband showed up again. In between I had heard them making music in the basement. We needed to move mattresses around and make beds for both of them. I scrambled to find sheets and make beds, then finally did the dishes, talked with the boy somewhere in between and then was too tired to get ready for bed. Also, no washbasin so I had to brush my teeth at the kitchen sink. I turned the lights out at 1.30.
Set my alarm for 7.30, wrote morning pages, skipped yoga and meditation again, ate breakfast with my husband, then the first guest showed up and basically didn’t move from the kitchen table for the next few hours. We waited for the second guest to get up but he took his time.
I order to get some time to myself I went out and picked up yogurt and some other things. There was another lunch:
More sitting around, more waiting, more conversations, more dishes. Ate the rest of the lasagna for dinner, tried to make myself prepare for my coaching session at 8 but felt sluggish. Then our guests left, I moved over to my studio, pulled out a couple of notebooks and thought about what I wanted to talk about.
Coaching was wonderful and very nice, then I started to write this post, finally did Duolingo, watched a bit of C-drama and went to bed.
So, now I’m left with the urge to do everything at once today, clean the house, do about five loads of laundry, open the manuscript and repair the washbasin drain. I’m sure this will be fun.
