I mean, not that that’s actually new. And this is not actual scientific evidence because it could also be that the days when I don’t manage to do my morning routine go sideways not because of the lack of morning routine but because of whatever reason makes it harder for me to function.
On the other hand there were quite a few days in the past weeks where I skipped my morning routine for no particular reason and those days didn’t quite go as well either.
Anyways.
I went to bed a little earlier, at 11.30, so not enough sleep again, set my alarm at 6.45 regardless, wrote morning pages, did yoga, took an actual shower and meditated and still was in time for breakfast. After breakfast I knitted a bit and then went on to the other parts of the morning routine. It a very long routine.
Since it was snowing I did not ride my bike to my usual supermarket but instead walked to one that is closer. When I came back home my husband was right in the middle of cleaning the fridge while making pancakes on the wood stove so I stepped in and helped with the fridge-cleaning.
Pancakes were delicious:
After lunch I talked a bit with the boy. My first two students wanted online lessons so that’s what I did. I’m also very proud that I delegated something, I asked the boy to shovel snow and to pick up something at the supermarket that I had forgotten because it wasn’t on the list. Since everything from the fridge was already out on the porch when I made my last round to see what else we’d need from the store I hadn’t seen we were almost out.
Then I had a break that I used for doing some admin stuff, taught another student, hung around while my laptop charged and made a backup, wrote an email, ate dinner and taught another student.
When I came back to the kitchen my husband was busy doing the dishes. I helped a little, talked to the boy some more, ordered a few balls of yarn for the CAL that is starting in January and started writing this post.
Did all the usual evening things and went to bed. Oh, and in between I started thinking about the yarn event I’ll be visiting on the weekend. No idea if I’ll go both days or just on Saturday and when because there is a part of me that really wants to stay home. I guess I’ll see.
Today will be the usual cleaning and very light teaching. I also want to plan the month and set up my bullet journal.
