Yesterday I reached the point where I was starting to wait for the week to be over.
I went to bed a little too late again and did sleep okay-ish. And then decided to skip my morning routine again. I don’t know. Yoga would have been a good idea, at least.
Everything took long than usual which tells me I’m still not completely back to normal but my voice is at a point where I don’t have to prevent myself from talking at all costs. I did cancel the singing lesson, though.
I spent quite some time reading and playing silly games, talking with my husband and then doing the dishes and such. Also, my husband’s fitness watch broke and we started talking about a replacement the day before. By mid-morning I had decided that he should have my smartwatch and I would get myself a new one. Shiny! Twenty minutes later or so I had already ordered.
I had been waiting for an excuse to get a newer model for a while and there was enough money in my „replace devices“-fund, so there I went. Very exciting! I’m counting it as my Christmas present.
Then I set out to do grocery shopping. I took the bike, went to two different supermarkets (because the one I usually go to doesn’t carry our favorite Greek yogurt anymore) and came home with all the food and stuff. I had my backpack and two bike panniers full to the brim. And, triumph!, for the first time ever did I manage to find green peppercorns that are not dried but pickled.
Then it was time for lunch. My husband had wanted to make chicken thighs with oven-roasted potatoes and beans. This is how it looked:
Unfortunately, the chicken turned out to be undercooked so we put it back in the oven and I decided to just eat the beans and potatoes. I made up for it by eating all the gummy bears for dessert:
Then I read some more, taught some students, waited for some students to show up, ate dinner, started writing this post, finally took care of the dishes, did some Duolingo, watched C-drama and turned out the lights.
I’ve been feeling a little better about the sweater-in-progress. While it still feels as if it’s not getting anywhere I measured and found that I’m already 12 cm/5 inches into the boring stockinette part. I only need to knit that much twice more – piece of cake.
Today I will clean all the things and then teach all the students. And then the weekend.
