I woke up from the alarm, got up somewhat early, did yoga and meditated. Breakfast was had, the boy was the last one again but earlier than usual because he had to get to the school for his report card. He also failed to bring in the thing where teachers have to sign when students are absent which meant he came back home, asked me for help finding the thing and went right back.
I have to say I am rather happy and proud about his grades, he did a good job this year. Managed to get his grade for German up to a C (just barely). I teased him about his chemistry grade, „Why only a B+?“ He does really well in all the natural sciences and English, not quite so well in things like religion and economics.
I did some of the cleaning and changed the sheets on my bed. Then I helped my husband make pizza:
We had wine to celebrate the last day of school.
No time to do the dishes, I had to teach. This time all the students showed up even if the last one came without her sheet music and her ukulele.
The boy and I watched an episode of Star Trek. It had a promising beginning and a disappointing follow-through.
So. Today is basically the first day of summer break. Well, officially this is the weekend before summer break but we won’t mention that little detail. I am planning to go for a run in my new shoes that arrived yesterday, do all the Friday dishes, deal with laundry and – work on the Kew dress that has been almost finished for years now. I set myself an arbitrary deadline for Monday. But first I have to find the buttonhole thread I bought and the buttons that should be around somewhere.
That’s often the problem with long-stalled projects – it’s hard to find everything.
