I woke up around six after a night of enough sleep. Dawdled. Checked on the new phone’s progress and it was supposed to arrive that day.
Breakfast, knitting, husband. My husband got ready for leaving right after breakfast and the boy didn’t show until he was gone.
I started reading „Reticence“ by Gail Carriger and basically spent the whole morning sitting at the kitchen table with that book. Highly recommended. You might want to read the three that came before it first, though.
Then I realized that my phone was about to arrive and that going for a walk/run in that time might be a bad idea. So I decided to run the next day instead. Then I found that I didn’t want to cook and that I wanted frozen pizza instead so I made the boy stay downstairs to wait for the package while I walked to the supermarket. (Poor thing had to delay playing „Skyrim“ for an hour. I gave him a choice, though, he could have gone grocery shopping as well.)
So then I had a new (to me) phone! Which meant that I spent most of the rest of the day with it. I have to say that setting it up was rather painless. I was pretty surprised by the ‚just sit it next to another device with iOS 11 or higher and wait‘-feature. I still had to download all kinds of things to it but after less than an hour it was ready to go with all the settings just so.
We had frozen pizza for lunch which was so unremarkable that I didn’t even take a picture of it. Also, I was just between phones at this point.
And then I spent the rest of the afternoon setting up my old phone for my husband. I learned how to unlock a prepaid SIM card by having a video chat with the phone company, and I learned how to wipe the phone and set it back up again it was all very instructive.
And then it was time for Star Trek and potato chips and licorice which was rather nice until the point where I bit on something hard and it turned out to be one of my crowns.
So. Today I will:
- Call the dentist right after breakfast and hope that he can fit me in somewhere in the morning.
- Hope that it will be early enough that I can go for a run afterwards and get ready in time for
- Meeting a friend in Munich in the afternoon.
No idea about lunch. My mother-in-law had wanted to go and have lunch with the boy one day and I told him to ask her if she wanted to go today but he forgot. I might just go to Munich early and leave the boy to fend for himself. We’ll see.
